David Jefferson has long dreamed of having his ain business concern. That dream is finally a reality.
After about xv years managing Play It Again Sports in Livonia, the Ann Arbor resident now owns the shop and relocated it to 31224 Five Mile on the northeast corner of Five Mile and Merriman.
The store purchases used sporting appurtenances products from customers and Jefferson hopes to begin selling sports equipment onetime by early Dec.
"It's happening chop-chop," he said. "We're getting the amount we need to open."
The opening of the secondhand shop marks a return of sorts for the visitor to Livonia: the former store that operated on the southeast corner of Plymouth and Middlebelt roads closed last year. Jefferson said he began looking at business opportunities and decided he'd purchase the expanse franchise for the Minnesota-based company and began looking for a new spot.

He discovered the storefront in the plaza would become vacant after Ultimate Sewing Identify was moving to another location in the same strip mall. Subsequently doing a walkthrough, they planned on signing the lease and taking control of the infinite in April. When the COVID-19 pandemic hitting, that delayed the charter signing and Jefferson was not able to access the edifice until October.
The shop's been open for customers to bring in their items to sell since the beginning of November. "Hockey and fitness are two year-round sports," Jefferson said. "Everything else is seasonal. We take to cater to the customs."
Jefferson'southward shop faces a new reality and new contest from seller-to-seller websites such equally Facebook, which weren't around 15 years ago. Now, he joins others online looking for deals to proceed to remain competitive.

"I'k going to Facebook Market, I'g going to Craigslist, I'm emailing those people and telling them, 'I'd love to buy this from y'all. Having the store is a fulfillment of passions for Jefferson, a old Div. I college roller hockey player at Towson Academy. Being able to trade stories and assist those looking to upwards their game drives him to come to work every twenty-four hours.
"I love sports and I love helping people. When they come in and they desire to talk about their sport and their needs, I savor helping them fill their needs."
